Physical Transformation

Right now my life is focused on transformation of every sort - psychological, spiritual, physical - money related, business related, body related...so I thought I would mention that the past Monday (June 23, 2008) I started a new program to help transform my body. I've struggled with my weight, as have so many, for years - the first time I remember thinking I was overweight I was only 13 years old. That kind of consistent thinking will certainly attract what you are focusing on - so I have successfully created a body larger than I would prefer. I've been working on adjusting that thinking over the last 6 months, and finally felt inspired to try something new. A friend of mine has been involved with a company that provides nutritional support for cleansing and weight loss and she'd been trying to get me to consider the program for about a year. I finally made a decision, I started this week and I'm blogging daily. If you are interested in following that blog, click SkinnyChicPFC.

Abraham-Hicks New Book

I loved today's quote so I thought I would post it here - it's from the new book that will be released in August - I've pre-ordered my copy - both audio and paper! :-) YIPEE!

I Want to Harmonize with My Desire. . .

Anytime you feel negative emotion, stop and say: Something is important here; otherwise, I would not be feeling this negative emotion. What is it that I want? And then simply turn your attention to what you do want. . . . In the moment you turn your attention to what you want, the negative attraction will stop; and in the moment the negative attraction stops, the positive attraction will begin. And—in that moment—your feeling will change from not feeling good to feeling good. That is the Process of Pivoting.

Above is another of a series of powerful quotes that we plan to email to you from Abraham’s newest (and we think greatest) book, Money and the Law of Attraction… Learning to Attract Wealth, Health and Happiness. It will be available for worldwide delivery on August 12, 2008. Please enjoy this powerful quote and watch for more.

If you would like to pre-order your copy now, click here.

Singing, Art and Joy

I'm finding that singing brings me into the most incredible space. :-) It's one of those things that I believe we can all do, but many of us give up early due to some negative criticism or meanness. It's like drawing - I think we can all do it as well, but it requires learning certain skills - which are no longer taught in school. There are, of course, people born with natural talent and affinity to certain skills, but that doesn't mean anyone can't become proficient - if I wanted to be a gymnast it would require a huge amount of work and training, but I could do it, probably not to gold medal standards, but with practice and dedication it could be done.

Some proof of the idea that anyone can learn to draw: the pictures below were taken of work I did at through a 1 week drawing intensive (Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain). Everyone in the class had similar improvements - some started with a little less skill than me, some with a bit more.

Maybe not exactly 'transformative'...

I just have to share this - found it posted by 'bloggersblog' on Plurk (www.plurk.com). (I am now twittering at www.twitter.com and plurking at Plurk.com. :-) )

And, I suppose, as it created much laughter for me, it is transformative - as I believe joy and happiness are - so enjoy a chuckle as you watch this. In my opinion it was definitely worth the 5 minutes.

A little too much Green?

Here are some images of a building on 86th St in New York City. I was walking past the building yesterday afternoon as this 'decorative' facade was being completed. My only thought, "How in the world will they maintain that?"

Yes, it's on the side of a building. Yes, they are REAL plants (in a few places you can see the dirt). Should be interesting to watch how this changes over time. Quite an adventurous design if you ask me! :-)

The guy in the pics is on an 8 or 10Foot ladder - obviously they needed bigger than that - or possibly a scaffolding to do the upper portions.

I'll try to remember to take more images and post them as time goes by. (Don't you just LOVE camera's in your cell phone?)

A beautiful poem

This poem is by Aracelis Girmay , from her book 'Teeth'. Enjoy.

FOR ESTEFANI LORA, THIRD GRADE, WHO MADE ME A CARD
for Estefani Lora, PS 132, Washington Heights

*
Elephant on an orange line, underneath a yellow circle
meaning sun.
6 green, vertical lines, with color all from the top
meaning flowers.

*
The first time I peel back the 5 squares of Scotch tape,
unfold the crooked-crease fold of art class paper,
I am in my living room.

It is June.
Inside of the card, there is one long word, & then
Estefani’s name:

Loisfoeribari

Estefani Lora

*
Loisfoeribari?

*
Loisfoeribari: The scientific, Latinate way of saying hibiscus.

*
Loisforeribari: A direction, as in: Are you going
North? South? East? West? Loisfoeribari?

*
I try, over & over, to read the word out loud.
Loisfoeribari. LoISFOeribari.
LoiSFOEribari. LoisFOERibARI.

*
What is this word?

I imagine using it in sentences like,

“Man, I have to go back to the house,
I forgot my Loisfoeribari.”

or

“There’s nothing better than rain, hot rain,
open windows with music, & a tall glass
of Loisfoeribari.”

or

“How are we getting to Pittsburgh?
Should we drive or take the Loisfoeribari?”

*
I have lived 4 minutes with this word not knowing
what it means.

*
It is the end of the year. I consider writing my student,
Estefani Lora, a letter that goes:

To The BRILLIANT Estefani Lora!

Hola, querida, I hope that you are well. I’ve just opened the card that you made me, and it is beautiful. I really love the way you filled the sky with birds. I believe that you are chula, chulita, and super fly! Yes, the card is beautiful. I only have one question for you. What does the word ‘Loisfoeribari’ mean?

*
I try the word again.
Loisfoeribari.
Loisfoeribari.
Loisfoeribari.

*
I try the word in Spanish.
Loisfoeribari
Lo-ees-fo-eh-dee-bah-dee
Lo-ees-fo-eh-dee-bah-dee

& then, slowly,

Lo is fo e ri bari
Lo is fo eribari

*
love is for everybody
love is for every every body love
love love everybody love
everybody love love
is love everybody
everybody is love
love love for love
for everybody
for love is everybody
love is forevery
love is forevery body
love love love for body
love body body is love
love is body every body is love
is every love
for every love is love
for love everybody love love
love love for everybody
loveisforeverybody

Wonderful Quote

I'm sure I've said it a thousand times - and I'll probably say it a thousand more... :-)
I am a HUGE fan of Abraham-Hicks! I was listening to their Orlando, FL April 5, 2008 event and hear this wonderful quote:

“Now has the potential of so much good, what difference does it make what you are doing to experience the good from? And, when you get that there will be good everywhere you stand. See the difference? No lack, no shortage, no absence of ‘wanted’.”

Talk about your life-altering moments. My focus today: to find the good feeling in this moment, and the next, and the next...

I am also working on a new piece of jewelry incorporating some of the words/concepts from Abraham-Hicks materials. It will be up soon at www.transformationaljewelry.com. In the meantime, come and visit to see the other wonderful, uplifting pieces that we have. :-)

Inspiration

Felt truly inspired over the last two days to do things I have been wanting to do for a while. I can really see the value in waiting for the moment of 'inspired action'. It's so much easier to do everything/anything when you want to instead of feeling like you 'have' to!

I have been wanting to begin playing with social networking online - having created a myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/paysonjewelry), a facebook page, adding to my connections on LinkedIn (http://www.linkedin.com/in/paysoncooper) - connecting with a few people, but not really knowing the next steps. Well, the last two days have opened it up for me a bit - I've gotten onto twitter (you can find me with the username: paysonjewelry), played more on facebook, and looked into a few other options. I'm also on a great new site called 'powerful intentions - check out my page at http://www.powerfulintentions.org/profile/TransformationalJewelry

There are some wonderful resources there.

Ooooo - experimenting with a facebook badge...let's see if it works:

Went for a long and wonderful walk in Central Park yesterday and as I was walking I was listening to a recent Abraham-Hicks workshop recording and thinking about the Law of Attraction. I had a great and simple experience with it this past weekend...

After the event in Austin my parents and I stayed on for a couple of days - I had originally planned to spend it getting to know a few people, but all the plans shifted at the last minute. I ended up spending the day with my parents - which was perfect! We followed a recommendation of some friends of theirs to visit a macrobiotic restaurant in Austin - it was excellent! And, right next door was a Chuy's - I hadn't eaten in a Chuy's for about 10 years (went to one in Houston with my bf) - and I REALLY wanted to go. I didn't dwell on it, just kind of focused for a moment on the desire and let it go.

Well, that evening I met up with a friend and her husband and they took me to dinner at what they described as a 'fun Mexican place' - I never said anything to her - guess where they took me? YUP! Chuys! A different one from the one we had been near, but I thought it was a perfect example of LOA at work. :-) I focused intently for a moment, then released and completely enjoyed the rest of my afternoon with my parents - allowing the universe to do it's thing.

Happy Attracting!

Meditation Experience

Meditation is something that I have explored at various points in my life with varying degrees of success. Right now I am working with a private practitioner (I didn't even know it was possible before I started) - she's an amazing woman trained in Ayurveda, yoga, Tibetan Buddhism and many other sciences, modalities and methods of thought. The experiences have been excellent so far - she does some hands on work to help flow energy through the channels in my body while I am focusing on my breathing - the sessions we have together tend to be far deeper and much more intense than when I practice at home.

One of my goals right now is to begin to do a yoga session (short is ok - mainly because throughout my life I have set up very 'BIG' ideas of exercise goals and within a few days fail to maintain it), followed by a 15-20 minute meditation session. My commitment for the yoga portion is to do at least 5 minutes of whatever feels right for the day.

So, today was very successful - I did a few postures (tree, warrior, downward facing dog and a few others) holding for a little longer than was 'easy', then laid down and set myself up for the meditation. I did about 15 minutes when my cellphone rang in the other room and basically completely distracted me (it was a wrong number too...go figure).

What I noticed in the meditation today was that very quickly my ears started to feel a bit tingly - which happens to me when I start to become relaxed and focused. It spread pretty quickly to my upper and lower lips, my arms, then legs. I felt very good staying there and noticing my breathing and how my body felt. At one point I realized my mind was wandering onto specific subjects and I found myself being a little hard on myself about not being able to 'suspend' thought or stop it - it was a few seconds before I remembered that, for the most part, meditation is not about stopping thought - it's about releasing thought. Our minds are built to think, it's what they do. Meditation is to help us become free of attachment to those thoughts - become the 'witness' as they say in many traditions.

A wonderful start to an amazing day!

Transformational Life

Transforming my life.

My goal over the last few years has been to create the life of my dreams. :-)

Sometime ago I realized that my life is right now - there is no waiting for it to happen - it is happening. I know it sounds a little obvious, but it's one of those things that I just sort of 'woke up' to.

I also realized that life is never static. So, now my life is focused on finding and utilizing tools that can help me to continually transform, growing and becoming, creating a joyous and wonderful life.

Stay tuned for tidbits and information regarding my experiences with various tools, programs, books and ideas.
